I'm trying to place the voice over actor. He's done alot of post war films, always played the English officer. It'll drive me mad.
Cut & Shut is a euro wide problem, but in western Europe enough people know where to look for the welds ( underneath scuttle plates) it has dried up a bit. Ally can be MIGed without too much training, but it's not very strong, enough for normal driving though.
They all are when you get it wrong. Even Thruxton where I work. Although not always.
Looks like the car was a "cut & shut" and it broke apart at the welds.
Done it in my MX-5. Well "in" isn't strictly true. :)
Re the main pic. Are people daft enough to think that driving your old car through flames will upgrade it?
A nice XB Falcon Customised Panel Van. Big 302 V8, 4-speed with plenty of room. Great for Drive-In's ! In the States was it done to park backwards so you could lay in the back to watch the movie, and other things ? (Pics not of mine)
1963 Holden EH Premier Wagon. I bought her in my last year of High School ('79).
Most MX-5's have hardtops over here, the problem is that you can't take advantage when the sun comes out. Consequently the hardtops hang in the garage till winter is truly with us.
Try Wedssport - Japanese drifting wheels. I got a second hand set for £400 for my MX-5 about 3 yrs ago and they have never let me down.
A home made home.
'75 LTD Landau
Every Marshal's dream, a well trained, if errant, tyre.
I was going to comment but you've got everything spot on, I would only add that the driver who attends was not from the pits but from a car that pulls off and parks just past the accident. Friend or team mate perhaps? Driver and Marshal are still in hospital, stable but serious.
It's an imagination of a front engine F1 car, if she was in green we would be talking about Vanwall.
Love my MX-5 - the cops think its a hairdressers car so don't really clock it. The trick is not to slow down, 100 on the motorway, don't slow for roundabouts.
The Story goes that apparently Bernie provided the cars for the Great Train Robbery and with the money he made he bought Brabham.
It's not a power scoop, they are exhaust ducts for the front mounted radiator.
