What I have heard/read is that it's a deliberate trick to get people to focus less on the model and more on the brand. Generic non-Jalops don't have a clue what you mean if you say you have a Z4 sDrive28i; but they DO know that "I have a BMW" equals "oooh, fancy."

The i8/918/P1/LaFerrari have proven that hybrids can be serious performance cars. Toyota should turn the boring Prius C into something special. It's already light at just 2,500 lbs, and it just needs a little more power and suspension tuning to become an interesting hot hatch.
