I actually know many people who have spent more on a chain for their bikes, than on their bikes themselves. I actually do have a somewhat more expensive bike (€300 for a used Gazelle Orange C8 IIRC), but my bike is almost always parked in bike garages with surveillance.

Come to the Netherlands. Most of us here have cheap, banged-up bikes, because they’ll get stolen either way :)

I would mainly look into inks that dry fast if you’re left-handed.

I’ve been using a Lamy Safari with a medium nib for about a year and a half and I’m loving it so far. But then again, I was taught how to write back in primary school with a Lamy ABC fountain pen. Therefore, the grip of the Lamy Safari was incredibly familiar to me.

Seeing as the cases are different, I’d say they’re different kinds of lead.

So it’s basically the US equivalent of Ryanair and Easyjet?

I’m actually wondering the exact same thing. The main reason I like the x per 100g or ml is because it makes comparing two (somewhat) similar products so much easier.

I agree. Especially since QBittorrent offers features such as RSS, which Transmission does not.

Isn’t it also a lot cheaper than buying bagged lettuce?

Apparently, a dish washer runs at the same temperature as a sous vide cooker (60°C). There’s this Dutch cooking show where they once actually prepared something sous vide in a dish washer.

Really don’t get the obsession with knives on Lifehacker. Perhaps I’m too European, but I don’t see the point of carrying a knive with me.

I tend to use young Dutch cheese and some ham.

Sorry, forget to mention that this is the situation in my country. Only risk groups are required to be vaccinated for free, while my health insurance only covers it if you’ve got additional insurance and are 50 years or older.

Pretty much the only thing that works against the Norovirus is cleaning toilets (in particular) with bleach. I’m really reluctant against the current trend in my country to not use bleach, especially in public toilets...

If I remember correctly, only risk groups are vaccinated against the flu (for free), such as elderly people, people with diabetus, or a low resistance. It might be possible for me to get a flu shot, but I would have to pay for it myself. Since I’m not in a risk group and am in good health, I choose not to get the flu

Also, if you learn that someone has lost someone, don’t always ask what the cause of death was. It seems like the standard reaction whenever someone discovers my dad died when I was 12. Not to mention the follow up questions I get when I answer that the cause was undetermined.

I currently use the Comicrack app for iOS, since it supports syncing with the Windows application. In combination with reading lists it works very well. With some tweaking, you can make reading lists combining issues from multiple comics with the correct reading order, so perfect for multi-comic arcs.

I’ll just stick with my Dutch tap water. It’s clean and it costs about €1.12 per 1m³ (1000 litres) in my region.

Indeed, cards with a chip and PIN are pretty much required over here in Europe. Also note that creditcards are not widely accepted in all European countries. In the Netherlands for example, even most of the big supermarket chains do not accept them.

Indeed, my mum works with both vlookup and pivot tables all the time. I once joked that her work life revolves around pivot tables, which she agreed with immediately. Vlookup was also one of the first things my mum was actually able to teach me and even I use it all the time.
