@juris.fabulous: But at the same time, and I'm not at all trying to criticize (I enjoyed your post), it just seems fundamentally unfair that a prosecutor, on one hand, would go full tilt, bringing the hammer of the law on, say, a homeless guy with 12+ summary charges and yet somehow, withdraw such a serious charge,…
@skahammer: But I guess to elaborate, from the way the article was written, there just doesn't seem to be any investigation, not into the university, not by the university, nothing.
@skahammer: True enough. You caught me. I only skimmed through the article.
@thelastgreenwave: Ah. That puts things in context. Thanks!
@mattharvest: Again, I admit I only have a loose understanding of the case, based on a quick skim of the article. But from what I've gathered, it seems like there is very little work done, if any, by the prosecutor. But you, know, I could be wrong.
@thelastgreenwave: I can understand that the essential elements of a sexual assault would be hard to prove, especially in light of the victim no longer being around. However, even if not that, I am sure the text message could qualify as the "utterance of a threat."
@Tom Gugliotta's Delicious Frittatas: I'm not from Jezebel either. I just like the name Tom. :p
@Tom Gugliotta's Delicious Frittatas: You're right, I can't say they were Tom, I can't say they were...
As a law student, this really frustrates me to no end. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't/won't prosecute this case.
You know what's missing from Madden? Showboating, unless there's a button I'm missing...
@PeterLorre: Urrk....
Judging from what I've seen so far to date, it's definitely going to need that extra time in the oven.
@wh213206: It's good, go play it.
@YardanCabaret: I'm guessing it was probably for the insurance money?
@madammina: Ah cool! I took a class on the EU in my last year during my undergrad. We got to role-play the EU Council, I was the UK.
@DarkProng: I quite like the look of the Wii. It's quite aesthetically pleasing next to the bulky, one eyed monster (the 360, I mean). Nintendo generally, after a few iterations, comes up with some nice stuff. The PS3 slim is also quite sexy.
@madammina: On a Saturday?! That's criminal. What is it?
@madammina: When I'm done my exams, I'll be buying Enslaved, for me, Supernatural Season 5, also for me, a point card so I can get Pacman (what can I say? I deserve it), Fable 3 CE for my brother, RC car for my other brother, an accordion for my gf, and something for my parents. Also, I have a ton of shopping to do…
