I've only ever spent a weekend in Calgary so I admit, I have no idea what the shopping looks like. I understand the frustration and I definitely agree that spending $50-$150 regularly isn't outrageous (depending on your income) but going above and beyond that is for the few who are high earner with minimal bills/debt.

I don't know... I live in the 'burbs of Toronto and when I worked downtown, my wardrobe still held things mostly from the under $50 category. I think if you're in specific high status (and, subsequently, high paying) professions, there's something to the idea that you'll spend $50-$150 on the regs but outside of

Holy shit.

I laughed out loud at that first scenario. I am probably a bad person.

"The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton (1967)

I have never managed to rid myself of my crush on Mark-Paul Gosselaar. It's been twenty years and a lot of blonde dudes since then...

Ah, so my method isn't actually that great and still involves some limited hugging...

I feel like the phrase, "... the Charles Manson of unwanted hugging." should not make me smile and yet, it did.

So I don't really know who Matt Goldich is (I looked at his Twitter bio...) but it's like he's seen my Facebook, and knows me, and that is super creepy!

Age differences have stopped creeping me out as long as there are no other (especially glaring) power imbalances when both are consenting legal adults. If an 18 year old wants to date a 40 year old... Fine. You do you. I mean, Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchinson are creepy for entirely different reasons, you know?

Since she's pretty wealthy (I'm guessing) and quite famous, it also seems to be missing some of the power imbalances that might squick me out. If she's happy and he's happy and it's legal, go for it!

I have never read these books and I likely won't see the movie so, you know, take me weighing in with a grain of salt but... Matt Bomer, who I like very much by reputation since I've only ever seen him in Magic Mike, seems like he'd be terrible in a movie like this.

Never said she was a bad actress!

Her character had its moments but overall, the tantrums and outlandish behaviour (since there was an entire season focused on her) was overkill for me. I just couldn't... But I'll definitely check out the podcast. Women in comedy is something I want to support (seeing as how there's this persistent myth that women

I like the idea of podcasts but I tend not to be the type of person who listens and absorbs material. She seems really intelligent, though, so maybe if I give the podcast a shot, I can get Burning Love out of my head! Thanks for the rec :)

I don't mind misanthropic characters but loud characters and ones that are just giant stereotypes (even when it's intentionally parodical) tend to grate on me. For instance, I can appreciate that Gilbert Gottfried is probably very talented but his tone and persona that he uses for his schtick overwhelms my

I've actually watched the first two seasons of Children's Hospital recently and I'm torn between being horrified and finding it, generally, funny. It helps that I was pleasantly surprised by Rob Heubel and impressed with Malin Akerman's comedic acting.

Ever since I saw her in Burning Love, I have been less than enthused by June Diane Raphael. I don't mind her occasional appearances on New Girl but Burning Love was the only thing I saw her on consistently and her character grated on me such that I am not a fan. I like Casey Wilson though I don't know any of her

Those were great links!

Damn it, I'm under 30 and I'm doing it all wrong!*
