The human tongue and nose can distinguish between some tens of thousands of different chemicals, each one producing a unique sensation.

I can’t believe a computer security person would be stupid enough to Mitnick himself.

I think the UK (and Belgium) might have a problem with people landing rockets right next to their country.

NASA DID land on the moon this way.

This. The last landing was really sloppy, this one’s a billion times better. I would bet that next time, they nail it.

I bet 50 bucks that not only do you know nothing of rocketry, you’ve never even flown a helicopter. Not even a toy.

I bet you’ve been very successful in life with your attitude.

You'll be fine SCUBA diving, though. The problem with free diving is that all of the air in your eustacian tubes is at standard pressure while you go down to 40 psi. Uncomfortable. But, if you breathe in some air that's ALSO at 40 psi, you'll feel fine.

This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever seen. My mind almost cannot process how unbelievably stupid this is. It makes me want to make damn sure that no Duracell product ever gets purchased by my family ever again, just to avoid rewarding that level of incompetence.

2 of these in a VR headset would be cool. In a smartphone? Kind of overkill, since mobile processors at this time are really only barely able to push this number of pixels at all. I doubt even one mobile chipset could push 4k at 30FPS even from video or 2d procedural source.

Crony Capitalism: You have 2 cows. You must pay ridiculous yearly taxes on ownership of the cows, the government tells you how you can graze, feed, slaughter, milk, and shelter them, regulates to whom and how you may sell milk, and requires you to purchase specialty equipment to process the beef and milk which only

It is obvious that whatever the government’s reason for using this technology is, it has nothing to do with keeping you safe, or they would not send criminals free rather than expose this tech’s use to us.

If braking is done via the rear wheels, it pushes the weight off the rear and onto the front. If braking is done via the front wheel, endo is mandatory. There seems to be no way that a tall short wheelbase cycle could possibly stop quickly, or turn aggressively.

Fukushima and Chernobyl are examples not of why we shouldn't use nuclear power, but of why we shouldn't continue to use flawed reactor designs 30 or even 40 years after the designs have been discovered and new designs have been drawn.

In a battery, in order to store charge, you must move atoms around in the battery. This means that their efficiency is not fantastic. A supercapacitor stores charge without moving atoms, and its efficiency is higher as a direct result of that.

I think we can start a biopark there, with exotic creatures. We can clone the exotic creatures from Triassic amber deposits containing mosquitoes. People will come from all over the world to the biopark to see these animals, as most of them will have never had the opportunity to see them before. Because it isn’t close

There exist plenty of anecdotes which demonstrate that our politician class is made up almost entirely of idiots, near-illiterates, and fearful panicky morons. This is just one piece sitting on a pile of such examples.

But 16 is divisible all the way to 1. Half a pound is 8 oz, half of that is 4 oz, half of that is 2 oz, half of that is 1 0z.

But Apple has THE BEST customer service ever!!1 (unless you are offended by being treated like an imbecile, in which case all bets are off)

But what if you could lighten the frame and engine so that you saved those same 4000 lbs by using better, lighter alloys? Then you could add the hybrid and use a slightly smaller diesel.
