Not necessarily true. My C5 (6 speed manual) has averaged over 30 mpg at 80 mph on hwy trips over 300 miles. (more than what the sticker says) Low coefficient of drag and low rolling resistance make a big difference.

I'm with you. Owned 3 on the list. Still have a vette. Don't consider myself one. Maybe that's the first step?

For the record, I've met both types of owner since I've had one.

"Affordable performance"? I like both cars but IMO new cars are more expensive now than they are worth. BRZ/FRS at low 20s instead of high 20s would be far more reasonable.

There are some good C5 guys out here. I have the non-z06 bc I wanted a specific color only made in the early run. Taken it on a road course even. I know it's not the best car ever. It is, however, good value for money.
