I'm really not a fan of the series since I think the game jumped off a cliff after ME1 (in all aspects expect characters and even that went downhill in ME3) but I'm wondering what is this evidence against it? If you already explained it could you paste a post?

And Skyrim is your example of connecting with characters and having a good story? Really? Should it have had more Skyrim like pick up/rescue/kill this missions in the same fucking caves/castles over and over?

Your second paragraph also works for Far Cry. You expect an FPS, open world, freedom in choosing your play style and that's what you get. You also repeat yourself (your 1st, 3nd, 4th FF points) and like you say some of them only work for a few of the games in the series.
