LOL is more newbie-friendly aka "easier", DOTA is more ... well you have to read a lot, practice with bots and watch a lot of gameplays to know how to play of every character, also you'll get matched with a lot of assholes (in LOL you get a lot of annoying kids, but you can mute the hell out of them, go solo and win)…
