He’s driving a legal, diesel truck that he hasn’t modified to “roll coal”. It puts out more particulate matter than modern ones, but he isn’t doing anything wrong. It’s more environmentally friendly than dumping it for a new truck.

I have a 2001 Ram 3500 dually with a diesel. The engine is not modified in any way at all (it has an aftermarket torque converter and the transmission has a shift kit in it, however) and these days it spends most of its miles with a 13,600lb, 36-foot long trailer on the back.
With 3.55 gears, acceleration is... not…

You must specify the differences in the 2JZ-ge. the non-vvti bottom end is nearly identical to the GTE. Same rods, crank minus the oil squirters. It has a thinner headgasket so the compression is higher but overall it can hold the same abuse as a GTE if the HG is swapped.
