One of the things we often do, as writers, is research. While I am currently re-reading all of Michael Crichton’s works, I am amazed at the amount of information he gets in there, without it feeling like I am reading a text book. Often times it is through the use of someone new to the field, or outside of it…
So, how is it going? You still at it?
Woah-oh living on a prayer.
How fare you? Are you on target, ahead of target behind?
I am not going to do one of these every day, as is evidence by the fact that I skipped yesterdays, but I will when I get a wild hair (wow, would a homonym really have some fun with this sentence - I’d be the new Richard Gere) up my ass.
For many of you, day one is in the bag, others of you, it will be coming to a close.
So, I was sitting on the sofa last night when my phone started chiming at me, and low and behold, my name was spoken three times on Twitter, and like the Beetlejuice of my youth, I was summoned into a discussion on
NaNo NinerWriMo. For those of you that don’t get the Beetlejuice reference, you will!
It’s November 30th. Did you do it? No, fuck the numbers, did you write? At the beginning of this
project experiment, we talked about writing. There was no commitment per se, at least none to us, maybe to yourself though. Tell us how you did, leave numbers out of it if you want.
So, it’s the twenty-first and we’re three weeks in to November. By now, you’ve had a conversation with yourself, probably many if you’re like me, that involves at least one of these phrases, or something very similar:
Tonight at midnight (the 15th, well technically that is the beginning of the 16th, but I digress) marks the end of the midway point of November, and therefore the halfway point of NaNoWriMo.
Well, that wasn’t me today, that was me yesterday.
Hopefully you’re still at it. I am. So, how goes it, I’d love a status update below!
So, day three is upon us and I’m about 2/3 of the way through the daily recommended allotment of words. Why was there no Day Two post? Because I was writing on my story, which I’ve tentatively titled Underground Pirates.
Day of the dead is over and so is day one of
I feel like I should be going smurfing! A cave, a mushroom, digging, a spiral shell, and counting money... Or maybe it is a Minecraft thing...
We're looking at fire, a lobster, oh look! The bag again!, scales (justice?) and an arrow.
I spy a raven, a basinet, knocking, a meteor, and a cellular phone.
Waves/the tides, a key, an axe, masks/masquerade, wrestling/struggle.
So, something swampy, an alarm, working out, a snake, and a crescent moon. Good luck!
