Whoa, I had the total opposite experience with my older parents, re: lying. I could put NOTHING over on them. Dunno if I'm a shitty liar or they were really astute.

My parents were much older than all of my peers' parents and I think they were better parents for it. They had been together for years before they started having kids and were really firmly established in their marriage and jobs.
