yup. I use my 360 controller for everything accept RTS and FPS games.

I bought a wired 360 controller (which finding a first party one is actually kind of hard unless you go to amazon or something) because i don't need an external program, and the button prompts are the same.

I personally think the PS4 controller fixes everything I hated about the previous DualShock designs. I loved the Xbox 360 controller, but the Xbox One controller just feels odd. The shoulder buttons and triggers don't feel right to my fingers, and the extra height of the analog sticks is a major turn off for me.
