Lol ballista were used on ships, yes. Not ballista that could launch a ten foot long, solid metal bolt at 70-90 degree angles into the air that only started to arc thousands of yards out, let alone smash through other ships like paper. Most ballista on ships used coiled rope tension rather than bows because of the

Have they ever once properly used the dragons as aerial recon in this show? It’s such a massive advantage in warfare yet it never really seems to be used sensibly.

Definitely, but I think Rodriguez’s point was that even under absolute primogeniture, where gender is irrelevant to succession, Jon’s claim is senior by being a child of the eldest heir.

Surprised by all the anti-Jamie comments.

Recoil very much applies to every weapon. It has nothing to do with “repeat fire”. Nothing escapes the Third Law. That’s why naval ships cannons where on wheels and not fixed to the deck. So the recoil wouldn’t be transferred into the deck. Otherwise a broadside would rip the decks out and/or capsize the ship.

No line of sight, and on a BOAT, that presumably moves with the fucking waves.

Dany’s fleet getting ambushed and completely destroyed by Teleporting Euron, who then of all the bodies floating around somehow managed to fish out Dany’s friend just so they could kill her to piss Dany off, is cheap as hell.

Jon’s claim has nothing to do with a patriarchal society - he’s not Dany’s younger brother, he’s the son of her elder brother. That’s how succession works and being male or female has nothing to do with it.

I’m really waiting for her to get Euron. He’s at sea, at the helm of his ship. Suddenly Arya flies from the sky and stabs him.

Someone on this site called him "Angry Joshua Jackson" and that's how I refer to him. I refuse to put him in the same boat with pirates. Pun shamefully intended.

The really sad bit about that is if they did get to sail off to Naath together, Grey Worm would’ve been screwed. According to the ASOIAF wiki:

I hate to be that guy, but I really feel like the writing is shitting the bed this season...people keep appearing out of nowhere to do some dumb thing, then disappearing. People keep doing things that make no sense just so the writers can create friction...and...there were two instances this ep where they fail to

Jamie Lannister is using the oldest trick in the book, he’s all like “It’s so hot in this room, I must discard my vestment...”

I’m with you halfway here.

Yeah, that’s three, count them THREE TIMES Euron’s massive navy has managed to know exactly when and where Dany’s forces would be and get the drop on them. I made a joke literally 30 second before Rheagal was killed that there would be a hidden navy waiting for them.

The writing for the show has gone beyond sloppy. I

So you were good with a sneak attack by a giant armada of ships, ambushing literally the only navy in their world that has aerial recon, and firing bolts capable of tearing holes through ships with stunning accuracy and seemingly zero recoil?

That was just Sansa letting the Hound down easy instead of telling him she’d rather be raped for months than have run off with him.

The most fucked up part is that somehow Euron knew to pull her and her alone out of the water and capture her, even though he’s never seen her before and has no clue of her importance.

Hmmmm. Intriguing premise. Still, I don’t think she’s motivated to best Dany like that. My guess is Euron figured Dany would try to come back to Dragonstone before she attacked King’s Landing, & prepared accordingly.

And somehow guys who have never shot at a dragon before managed to draw a bead on one despite no clear line of sight? Just...ugh, that’s REALLY reaching, guys
