That's Ms Doctor Who, thank you

I think girl-crush implies that there might be some kind of sexual attraction. I meant, why is there no word for that feeling and experience of meeting someone new and becoming friends, like there is with a lover? This is an equivalent experience that deserves a name, don't you think?

Oh, I didn't mean we can't judge them. I just meant, what can we do to actually save the animals? Judging them isn't going to save any more rhinos. I didn't mean it as a rhetorical question. I was looking for actual suggestions.

That's my John Wayne voice (I'm a woman, but that doesn't mean I can't have a John Wayne voice). I did mean it. It is not okay to use that word. You don't have to believe me, but I did mean it. I also think it's wrong to fly the confederate flag.

I think that people rely on stereotypes against Southerners, which I've

How is talking about a specific person's actions and words stereotyping?

Oh! Yay! :)

Did you dismiss my comment? :/

Yeah, because stereotypes never hurt anyone, right? Stereotypes about people are great! White people are ALL STEREOTYPES. Don't dare say that's hypocritical because Privilege. Or something.

How about we put aside the ad hominems for a moment and actually try to look at what's happening? No people are stereotypes.

I was asking if it would be problematic for someone who is not Mexican to wear it, given the sensitivity people have to the concept of appropriation. Apparently something called "appreciation" and "influence" are acceptable, but I usually cannot tell the difference when something is inspired by or is an appropriation.

I don't know about that. I actually read the deposition and I read this article, which made me rethink whether or not we're actually judging her, or if we're judging the stereotype of an Old Southern Racist. It looks like she's more complicated than people are giving her credit for.

She didn't actually call them "slaves" and she didn't describe it in that context. She said that she and her husband went to a restaurant where all the servers were middle aged black men in white tuxedos and she thought that they looked great and that she loved their "professionalism" but she knew that it would be

Good reason to drink as any!

Oh, they deserve blame, too. This is one of those big complicated things that many people and groups can be at fault for at the same time.

If only judging them would save the slow loris, the rhino, sharks, giant salamanders...

I read that in Felicia Day's voice.

For a while I indulged my husband's preference for pants that are too tight, because he made me feel really good about my butt. I felt self-conscious because I thought the clothes that he liked on me were a little trashy, but I loved the sexual attention that he gave me. I think he was worth it.

I remember reading that, too, but I forgot about it until you reminded me. It fits with other motivation psychology theories. It makes sense to me.

Do you get what feels like a stress headache across your brow? I get that. It went away after I had it botoxed.

I want to say that I love this. I think it's beautiful.

Shaving yours because she shaves hers is just fair. I approve.

That is so Breakfast at Tiffany's to me. You are bold, and I envy you.
