It’s possible. He gets banned regularly, and has for years (he trolled Gawker long before Jez). His actual username changes, but you can make your display name say anything you want, so he just keeps creating new accounts, uploading the same picture and using the same display name.
Trolls generate page views (probably more efficiently than Gawker Media’s actual posts). Page views generate $$$.
I’ve long been under the impression that Loco J is allowed to exist (if not actively encouraged) just because he provokes our outrage and, sadly, that provides page refreshes and views. A cynical take but, considering L J’s notoriety and how long he has trolled the various Kinja sites, one that I 100% believe.

Every day might have been an exaggeration, but I know for a fact he’s been banned multiple times. I reported him to Kinja myself once and saw him banned.
That particular one has dozens of accounts it seems. I don’t know if they IP ban, but even if they do it’s trivial to get past one.
This bugs the fuck out of me. I discovered the Gawker blog family through Deadspin around ten years ago, and I was amazed at quality of the comments across all the sites, as well as the lack of trolls. A sports site filled with hardly any racist, sexist, idiots? Sign me up!
Sadly he’d probably face more blowback if it were a case of prostitution.
