Hey Gizmodo, if you're going to show a Google clip, why not link to the original YouTube instead of chopping it up? No one realizes you're showing it at 300fps!

The fact that everyone is mistaking this video for real time probably has to do with the way Gizmodo chopped up this Google made video. Enjoy the original ;)

Actually, they filmed the video at 300fps. You're seeing playback at 30 fps, which means the animations are 10x slower. They're showing the difference between the 30fps animations on the left, and the 60fps animations on the right.

I love how they say "You can't beat the taskbar." then they proceed to completely remove that from Metro as well. (Yeah, I know it's still there in Classic UI, but it just doesn't work the same for me)

You could always install the Kindle app. You may miss out on some features from the Fire, but overall I'd take the smooth running stock Android device.

This probably isn't directly intended for the End User. This looks like technology for high performance computational clusters, which already suffer thermal and noise issues.

I agree it's a great name, but I find it funny they took the name from something 95% of their customers will have never heard about and rebranded it.

Brand identity crisis? Microsoft advertised the "Surface" as the future tabletop entertainment center, to be used in bars and restaurants. Now it's a tablet.

These faucets are clearly not fully crimped, which means that the partially crimped pipe is simply creating water pressure. You really don't need that much room for a sink faucet to work anyway. How small do you think the holes on your current faucet are? Not much bigger than the space in the pipe I'm sure.

I too have had simple requirements, that unfortunately no TV stand on earth supports unless it's an open front/open top piece. The industry standard for home theater equipment is generally 17 inches wide, and for some reason a large number of furniture makers don't understand this and make the shelves 15 inches wide

More people need to read this.

Its as if he knew one day there would be a youtube...

I find that SwiftKey tends to put the most common word up front, then tries to predict two sentences based on something you've said before. The word that defaults on my phone is just "I", and continuing with the prediction is the sentence "I am too". if I keep tapping space it puts "I want to transfer within ", which

Apple hasn't been about end user servicing for a LONG time. They really want you to take it to the genius bar for service and repair.

Windows Vista was a flop because the differences in the drivers and kernel were enough to make legacy devices incompatible with the OS, yet there wasn't enough push from Microsoft to get third parties on board for new drivers. It works now, but initially it didn't. This is what I was trying to say.

That was more a reference to Windows ME than Windows 8. Windows 8 continues what made Windows 7 good, but it shifts the way it's meant to be used. Windows Vista was taking what was good about Windows XP and trying to rewrite it from the ground up, and that didn't work. While 8 gives more power to the users on tablets,

The way I see it, Windows 8 is the next big mobile platform. It's also not Windows Vista per se, it's just too narrowly focused on touch screen interaction. Think of it more like Window ME. Sure, it sounds great on paper, and you're adding a bunch of features to make it more user friendly, but you're also taking out

Even though this doesn't have the same aperture as the Canon 50mm, I may consider this. I've been wanting a pancake lens for cheap, and being at 40mm it's perfect for my cropped sensor camera (Since my 50mm is more like 85mm)

I may have had issues with the developer preview when it first came out, but I was having serious productivity issues with using the start menu's search function in Windows 8 which is still an issue for me. They require several more clicks to navigate the menu. The update to Metro also eliminated many window

Not going to lie, that was probably the wittiest comment I'd seen.
