The cadence of the Old Testament takes some getting your head around, but once you do, it’s a pretty intense read of how brutal ancient times were and what a challenge it was just to survive. It’s a good read in a weird way.

That is absolutely the way to do it. The Bible IS important as literature and it pops up all over the place. Having a basic grasp of it, as well as other foundational texts from different cultures and religions, opens so many doors to understanding.
