How does having a good time equate to being stupidly drunk? It doesn’t, but being stupid drunk does greatly increase the probability of having a good time.

Kinda sad that three of the ten in my age group are suicide.

The Miata is the best-selling sportscar ever made. I’m sure someone will figure it out.

As long as autonomous cars have fewer injuries, fatalities, and accidents per mile than conventional cars, they will be better and they will be adopted.

Why can’t you trust any data that comes from another car? Do you trust that the car you’re passing isn’t going to move over into you? If yes, then why are self driving cars different. Remember, self diving cars don’t need to be perfect. They only need to be better enough to justify the cost.

Um, because humans suck at being efficient and judging what speed would be required to get through an intersection without stopping. Meanwhile computers can do that math in milliseconds with no problem. We manage to move petabytes of data every day with minimal collisions. This is no different.

As someone who may or may not have outrun the cops before, (it may or may not have been in a Miata, too) the ‘can’t beat Motorola’ spiel is a myth. A normal police chase is just a race to the next exit or intersection. So unless there’s already an officer at the next intersection when the cop figures out that you’re

Hell even 10-15 years ago that could have been deadly. It astounds me that there are people who don’t think that SAFER barrier should cover every inch of wall on the tracks

Former employee of a grocery store that rhymes with Broger here. My particular Kroger got chickens specifically for the deli. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the rotisserie chickens are sanitay or good to eat. At the end of the day, if you’re that worried about having everything you eat be perfectly

If you can get fired for disagreeing with your boss, then you need to go ahead and find a new job

Well, a running rx-7 is a one in a million find anyway* so... But seriously those spirit R’s are awesome man. Fly over to Japan, buy one, and put it in storage. That’s what I eventually want to do with an S15 Silvia.

Because running in the proper gear when you’re in proper health is totally equitable with running in shitty gear with an extra 60 or so pounds on you any time you’re healthy enough to not be in the hospital, right?

You’d have a hard time finding an rx-7 worth buying for 10k today. Assuming we’re talking FD. That’s not really a dream car though, more of a ‘one-day’ car that you can conceivably get at some point in the future. Same with your other cars listed. I guess we just have different ideas of a dream car.

Just because there aren’t any Republicans in NYC doesn’t mean that the election isn’t fair. You (a hypothetical Republican in NYC) got outvoted. Sorry.

$10k is the cost of a lot of your dream cars? What cars are you dreaming about? I’m looking at buying a C5 for around $10-12k in the next year or so, and it’s only up from there.

My point is that because those shitty politicians are elected in fair(ish) elections, it’s still a representative government. It’s not the fault of shitty politicians that the people continue to elect shitty politicians to represent them.

My bad

The definition of a republic is an elected representative government. That’s obviously paraphrased a bit, but you can not have a republic without real elections. Israel has an elected representative government. The UK has an elected representative government. I really don’t know about the Vatican, so I won’t speak on

More turnover in their legislature doesn’t make them more Democratic than us. Were those legislators elected by legitimate open and public elections? Honestly I don’t know the answer to that question. If they were, then great. If they weren’t, then that’s not Democracy or republicanism.

If you don’t have legit public elections, you’re not a Republic. A Republic is an elected representative government. Last I checked, North Korea, China, and the USSR don’t/didn’t have real elections. So, again, why are they using a system of government that they hate in their name?
