See, the thing about vehicles is that you can own more than one. Sure, a minivan has some cargo carrying capability. I’ve personally transported a ton of stuff in a minivan. But the only reason we’ve ever transported cargo beyond kids and groceries in the minivan is because the pickup truck was down.

It really depends on what state you’re in. In Texas, everybody is doing at least 80. Or at least they were when I took a road trip through there. In Virginia, the only people doing over 80 are people with radar detectors, waze, don’t care about $200 speeding tickets and the insurance hit that comes from reckless

While an ATM is technically a ‘desktop computer’ given the definitions I gave, it is still very different from your average personal computer. Proprietary GUIs that are impractical to break out of without more physical access than an attacker would have in real life. They allow one or two connections in and out. They

It didn’t have USB ports with public access. A store manager or cashier or whatever might have access to that USB. Not the public. He had it alone in a room with unlimited time to figure out how to get into it. Again, physical access means getting in is just a question of time and money. No one could pull this off in

He had physical access to the machine. Once you have physical access all bets are off. Getting in is a function of time and money.

Holy shit. An ATM is not your desktop computer. What part of one or two connections in or out are you people not understanding?

Um, actually, they all do. More people that don’t know the first thing about IT. XP has extremely low system requirements, is extremely stable, and with a firewall that only allows one or two connections, is plenty secure. Some systems don’t require software support, and organizations have their own support

I’m not sure what IT qualifications you have, but I’m guessing they’re minimal. XP was plagued with security issues while it was supported, and, now that it’s no longer supported, you’re a moron if you have an XP box hooked up to the Internet.

Yeah, I was talking about ATMs, POS systems, inventory scanners, etc. Maybe you should try reading before you start smarting off

Get captured or personally start world war three? I know which one I’d rather have them do.

>easily accessed

An average meeting for me at work costs like $300 that’s crazy. Kinda like how if you spend 10 minutes on the toilet at work every day that’s over a week of PTO after a year.

That website doesn’t define ‘desktop operating system’ and it doesn’t explain where it gets it’s data. Generally when you think ‘desktop operating system’ we’re talking about a client not a server, that has a GUI, and the user can interact with it via an input device. ATM’s inventory scanners, POS systems, etc all

The vast majority of XP boxes don’t look like this:

Ding ding ding!

Eh, the only reason XP still has a high market share is because of bussisses that are slow to upgrade and ATMs, lottery machines, retail inventory scanners, etc that have no reason to upgrade. Take those numbers away and the market share drops like a rock.

Vista is being supported until 11-4-2017.

Shutting down support for windows 8 and keeping support for 8.1 is basically like saying windows 7 is no longer supported but windows 7 sp1 is still supported

A minivan would be great for tiny pieces of furniture. How are you gonna get a queen sized mattress in the back of a minivan? Not gonna happen. How about a chest or a bureau or a China cabinet or a dining room table or literally anything either longer than 6 feet or taller than 5 feet? Also not going to happen.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever moved before or not, but what you just said happens to be completely false. A panel van would probably be better than a pickup and a box truck better than either, but certainly not a minivan.
