I don't have a source at hand, but the NVGs filter out some light in the blue range and apparently LEDs emit in that frequency range, regardless of the color. If you shine a regular LED flashlight at someone wearing the NVGs you'll see a very dim light area. If you were in the wilderness with no other lights around…

Interesting tidbit regarding flashlights. An air crew cannot see an LED light when they're under night vision goggles.

If you do a lot of swimming, then get some ear drops designed to help remove water or use earplugs. If it's a one-time swimming event, you're probably at pretty low risk of developing swimmer's ear unless you're in some particularly nasty water.

The Aqua Notes are a great idea. I actually keep a dive slate in my shower for brainstorms but these would probably be a put easier to use.

There are a lot more ways to remove ticks that are better than the tweezers method. The emergency department I work in got the lasso style removers this year and it's become my preferred method. Even bought a couple for the house. I live in a rural area and can pretty much guarantee a tick or seven every time I walk…
