I think it's more that Supernatural is a bit like Hellblazer.

At least it makes it completely credible that nobody believes her. One could imagine a conversation about the website "Dude, did you see The Streak Lives blog?"

don't get me wrong here... I liked Chronicle it just one imagines when they hired him they weren't looking to make a sequel. Of course I try to remember this is all rumour until the trailer...

But, by all accounts, that's exactly why they hired the guy. They wanted Chronicle 2 to be named Fantastic Four for some reason, and now appear to have gotten exactly that. I currently imagine the meetings as being similar to the focus group that lead to Poochie on The Simpsons.

It can be seen as an insult if one didn't mean to make Cronicle 2...
