Yeah, it’s definitely a race thing. See also:

Unless, you can promise that a Solar Panel manufacturing plant will be built in their town and will hire all the unemployed people in town, then the Progressive view of moving into the future has little chance against the Conversative view of maintaining the past.

Yeah really, why is the doll’s forearm bigger than the upper thigh? Plenty of little kids have scrawny limbs, but this is uncanny valley level shit.

I’m digging your username/comment synergy!

Also, shows that he either doesn’t use Uber/Lyft or doesn’t ever actually talk to his driver. Pretty much every person driving for Uber is also driving for Lyft. They’re “independent contractors,” why would they limit themselves to one branded driving app?

I’m always amazed by what people are willing to put into an email. Until I remember all the shit I’ve put into texts and chat applications. I don’t envy celebs and public figures in the age of hack and release.

Yeah, I was definitely speaking in broad terms. I have one friend who’s “kk” usage doesn’t bother me, because that is in fact how she talks in real life. So I read it in her actual tone of voice when I get a “kk” response. I think pretty much all of my texting pet peeves boil down to people texting in a style that is

There are literally hundreds of brunch spots in Chicago with $13+ French toast. Do you only eat at diners?

I think it just sounds like a lie because it’s vague. First, no one needs to apologize for not responding to a text immediately, especially during business hours. Any adult texting between 9-5 M-F knows their recipient is probably just busy. Second, if you must apologize, “sorry was at work” and other less vague

Yeah, I’m mid-20s and “K” on it’s own is basically shorthand for “I don’t want to deal with you right now.” I’m not even a huge fan of “okay” tbh. Acceptable short responses to confirm you’ve read a text: “Gotcha”, “sure thing”, thumbs up emoji.

How long had you been seeing him? I think it’s pretty normal to drop in and out of text conversations with people you know fairly well. However, I do try to end early-stage text convos with “got to go, talk later!” It seems polite, since I don’t really know that person well enough to assume they get my communication

I’m by no means a clean freak, but outside shoes inside just seems weird to me. Maybe this is a city thing? I walk around on city sidewalks, tunnels, and train platforms to and from work, I’m not trying to bring that into my place at the end of the day.

It also drives me nuts when people who don’t live in the city act like the entire west and southside are Mad Max style murderzones. There are very specific neighborhoods in the west & southside that are driving the uptick in the crime rate.

“I literally can not imagine La La Land being a good movie.”

The movie basically has only 3 characters with more than 3 lines of dialogue. Gosling’s, Stone’s & Legend’s characters. I’m not saying you couldn’t argue for more diversity in the movie, but this seems like a weird one to focus on.

Gosling’s character is basically set up as a pretentious weirdo with a jazz fixation. A talent one, but you’re definitely not supposed to think everything that comes out of his mouth is the gospel truth. He may view himself as the savior of jazz, but the viewer isn’t supposed to necessarily agree with him. To further

Exit polls show he lost white women with college degrees by about 6-7 points. We won’t really know the exact demographic breakdowns until the Census report comes out later this year. It seems pretty obvious that the white woman vote generally splits along urban density and education level.

I mean, fuck that commenter for implying that black people are the reason we ended up with President Trump. But also, the majority of white people living in large cities didn’t vote for Trump. So, when a white person who lives in a major city says “I don’t know anyone who voted for him,” it doesn’t mean their friends

I definitely get all of this. But I didn’t see signs connecting reproductive organs to womanhood. I saw signs connecting reproductive organs to reproductive rights. Which seems like a fair connection to make. The only signs I saw personally saw that edged close to being trans-exclusionary read “No ____ No Opinion”.

Also, apparently signs mentioning wombs/vaginas are cissexist? Who knew.
