Pretty sure we were talking about faces there. Obviously the average dude's penis is not as big as a porn star's.
No where did I say that it was disrespectful to Michelle for him to compliment another woman's looks in general; but he didn't directly compliment* another woman's looks, he worked a complimentary observation about another woman into a speech. I don't mind when my partner says to one of his female friends "you look…
Do you even go here? It's not okay for men to bring looks and/or attraction into situations where they have no bearing- that's a pretty common theme on this website and in feminist circles in general.
Yeah, I guess on the one hand at least those types of guys' are weeding themselves' out for me; on the other hand, there are actually people who think that sort of commentary is acceptable. I like to look at it from a glass half full perspective so it's not so depressing.
Disclaimer: I am in no way trying to imply that white women with curly hair have it anywhere near as bad as black women and especially not black women who wear their hair naturally.
That's not at all unusual for a state school though, especially ones that are considered to be prestigious or have strong alumni connections. I went to a school that is considered to be one of the "Public Ivies" and I think like 6-10% of the annual funding for the school came from the state.
Gen Y is the same thing as millennial, so you can use the former if you prefer.
Literal spit-take over here, bravo!
I always just assumed some Irish/Scottish heritage thrown in there somewhere, especially considering his eye color.
Like everyone else has already said, there are plenty of Europeans and people of European-decent with hair naturally in the 3A-3B range. Anything more curly than that and there's a high probability of some mixed heritage, but even then it's not impossible.
I'm having a nice little chuckle over here at all the commenter who think he's simply using some leave-in products and a comb to get his (naturally- Google the baby pics, people) curly hair that straight. His current hairdo is the product of either a chemical treatment or a lot of quality time with some heated…
I 100% agree with you! If media is truly well made, well written, etc., spoilers shouldn't "ruin" anything. Someone spoiled the a major character death in the SOIAF books for me (think book three if you're familiar with them), and while it upset me because it involved a character I was fond of dying, it didn't ruin…
Sorry, but reading that actually startled a laugh at me. It's definitely a fucked up thing to say to someone, but it's so absurd it kind of edges into amusing.
Writing about a handful of tough women but also making it very clear that they are the exception rather than the rule (while also not having the women who are in power make any kind of effort to change the situation women live in) is kind of...
See, I think that by writing a more realistic medieval inspired fantasy world, G.R.R.M. is lambasting more traditional fantasy tropes. I like Tolkien and more traditional fantasy fare, but you have to acknowledge that they're almost all based on idealized medieval period. G.R.R.M. intentionally tries to make people…
But he was actually burned...
It's a pretty standard diet tip. Often our body interprets thirst as a craving for something salty. Therefore, the more water you drink, the less cravings you get for salty foods.
I mean, I'm not sure how one would prove that, and I'm not saying that one can't be a paranoid schizophrenic and a bigot. But homophobia is pretty visible in daily American life, and there is a fairly large literature out there in clinical psychology exploring the role of patient's culture in the formation of…
