This dude is apparently unaware of the Catholic Church's long-standing legacy of encouraging higher education for all. My great aunt and godmother, the daughter of Irish Catholic immigrants, was able to go to college in the 1930s thanks to a scholarship to St. John's University.

I mean, I love reliving my high school days talking about TRL as much as the next guy but c'mon guys!

Yeah, I feel like what bothers me about this piece and pieces like it is that they rarely talk about WHY white men/black women relationships are shown in movies (though I wonder what a relationship constitutes, because if the relationship they have is based on exchanging money for sex I feel like that shouldn't

No, people in the UK are sooper dooper racist just like everyone else. It just doesn't manifest itself in the same ways; the "black men b stealing our white wimminz" thing seems to be a particularly American hangup with some deeply ugly historical roots.

Ugh. I have a friend who is Kenyan-American, who now holds her PhD and teaches, BUT...she received a scholarship to attend Auburn University for her PhD, and the first day in a class that she was co-teaching, the white male co-teacher told her that she couldn't leave her backpack at the front of HIS class, and that

Those white girls who are pissed should probably quit rather than comment anonymously.

Yep. Less than a decade ago, I was eating boloney scraps (you buy the scrap bits when you can't afford the nice bits of boloney) and ramen, and right now I'm all pissed that I wish I had a third flat screen tv in my house.

Yeah...I live in NY too, and you are part of the problem if you think that a couple making over $200,000 a year is "middle class". That's insulting and exactly what's wrong with this city.

While reading, I kept going back and forth.

My heart totally breaks for everyone involved in this story - the people who have 40K to spend renting a house, the landlord who owns a house in an exclusive, expensive real estate area... So much injustice suffered on each side, for both of these people.

He tried to put on two condoms. A blue one and a yellow one

Age: 32

Age: 15 (His age: 19? Maybe?)

You’re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn't even think about it, 'cause that's just me.

More like these dudes have the worst taste in women

Sorry, but what other popular mainstream rappers have been encouraging equal rights for LGBT people? I'm sure that if some comparably famous black rapper had said the same things, the response would've been similar, if not better.

Black rappers who rap about those same things, don't get famous. Thats the point.

His music is mad cheesy. I'm not changing it.
