@all: Since the topic was about "Performance Engines", I'd say that the (fantastic indeed) performance of the Viper is irrelevant. As far as the engine is concerned now, the specific output of 50hp/lt is hardly "performance engine" territory. For comparison, even the 1,6 lt M40B16 powering the baseline 1990 E36 BMW…
Turbos and catalytic converters inside the V-bank?? Well, that sounds like a recipe for a very expensive failure in the near future.
Am I the only one who believes that people should start getting shot for wrecking supercars??
Are you sure the Suzuki Wagon R qualifies as a kei car?? I think there is an engine displacement limitation of 660cc for keicars, to which the Wagon R certainly does not comform to.
I think a sedan version of the first generation Yaris was also sold in the US as the "Echo". Although there are virtually no design similarities between the two, they are basically the same car.
I call BS on this one. The seller doesn't seem to have performed any kind of "restoration" to the car, other than the bare minimun of mechanical repairs to return in to running condition, so that it can be sold on eBay with a huge premium. It's a pity though, because a "barn find" 356 in such a solid state is really…
Because six straps and a crazy guy standing on the rocker panel are not enough...
In this case, I'd say that the car is more to blame than the driver. Definitely a bug in the gearchanging sofware. A clutchless automated manual should never stall.
Great news. Now, for the next step...
Can't get much worse than that...
@Ben Hartwig: Heart-click for that. I had never thought of it.
@3% chance of Weather and Darkness: I agree, weird as may look, it is indeed one very clever piece of detail.
