There needs to be a tiered drivers license system in the US. The “walk into the DMV” tier of license should get you something 2800 lbs max, 150 hp max and no power steering. Anything faster or heavier needs some amount of hours of professional instruction.

I have been screaming this forever. Plus we think we have problems with pedestrian and bike deaths now, add another 3,000 pounds to the curb weight and no one has a chance. Plus the idiots driving these will be killing drastically higher numbers of people in reasonably-sized cars.

No, Allison Williams says her publicist thought she was “delusional.” Not trying to defend some rando publicist, just pointing out that proper attribution is kind of important in journalism.

Under the Skin was from 2013, The Babadook & It Follows were from 2014, The Witch was 2015. A24 is the company associated with arty horror films, Blumhouse aims for cheap & profitable.

Well I think it was one of the early “Arthouse” style horror movies, though I don’t consider it a horror movie.  More suspense than anything.

Seeing Pentiment come out of Obsidian post-Microsoft acquisition makes me wonder if we’re going to see Xbox step into that role of “platform holder publishing weird A/AA stuff to attract users”. The new economics of Game Pass might allow for that in a way buying games individually no longer encouraged at the highest

I love gamepass. I have bought so few games since signing up. 2022 was just a shit year for all platforms. Next year looks amazing.

I use to come here because Kotaku actually did quality game reporting

quoting your own tweet in your own article... classy.

I’d love to read an article about diversifying the upper echelons of video game developing companies.  I couldn’t give a rats ass less about what any of them are wearing.

So, basically, invite more marginalized people to The Game Awards, give more marginalized people jobs in the industry, and maybe let someone who isn’t a white guy named Todd or Glen make a triple-A game. Then The Game Awards may start looking like a proper awards show.”

Maybe have this be the crux of the article

Yes and no. It was about the desperate desire to put a low-stakes need (his relationship with Sophie) over the traditional high-stakes needs (the multiverse being ruled with an iron fist to avoid free will itself destroying all of reality).

What’s hilariously apt for the misdirection of the Marvel Universe is that it

I think it’s partly hedging their bets. Testing the waters before diving in as opposed to being about the build up.

I might’ve enjoyed Moon Knight more if I wasn’t so annoyed by the Steven Grant persona from the start.  “Oh, I’m so quirky!  I have problems with sleep-walking/waking up in strange places, so I tether myself to my bed!  I could seek a therapist and tell him about my problems, but instead I tell a living statue!

i highly, highly doubt blade is ever coming out.

Was Loki low stakes? I thought the existence of all histories hung in the balance by the end of that.

The only P4 material I even sort of enjoyed was Loki and Hawkeye, which were nice and small with lower stakes. I liked Starlin’s cosmic stuff in the 70s because it was different, but a whole MCU of cosmic level threats isn’t that appealing to me. Making Shang Chi basically a “good” version of the Mandarin really

sort of love how unhinged these takes are.

Harper is not actively “ruining the vacation.” She’s annoyed and resentful towards Ethan for having them hang around that vapid airhead couple that she can’t stand that he seemingly respects and defends. And while there are signs that Ethan is not all that attracted to her anymore, it’s way too early in the show to
