I considered that this morning, too. But I don’t think that’s the case. More likely that Microsoft will use that to get Sony to support Gamepass rather than going further with its own streaming platform.

That’s my guess. I don’t think this is about selling XBoxes, I think this is about getting Gamepass on Playstation.
I am super curious if this is going to be followed up in the next year or two with Sony announcing Gamepass will be available on Playstation. I don’t feel like Microsoft wants XBox to have exclusives, I feel the goal is to have Gamepass have exclusives and be THE on-demand gaming platform.
Same. I grabbed the PS4 when Spider-Man came out. I don’t think there will be that many PS5 exclusives coming out for a while. The biggest one is God of War, and that on its own won’t be enough for me to buy a new console. I could always go back to finish off the Valkyries in the last game if I was really jonesing for…
Honestly, this is just personal circumstance, but I used to play XBox One with some friends. I ended up selling that and buying a PS4 to play some exclusives. I was thinking about buying a cheap XBox One to play with those friends again.
I think Harry Potter was left out because Harry Potter won’t be in this game. They’ve pivoted away from the Harry Potter name so they can continue to milk that cash cow without the character being a central part of it.
Same. There aren’t any new interesting games coming out for either console. I’ll pick this up for PS4 when it comes out and just wait for something exciting to happen.
The XBox One S is the same price as the Series S.
So I’m prepared to eat my hat by the next holiday, but I’m going XBox Series S.
You know, I thought 2008 didn’t sound right, but that’s what I get for not reading closer. Apparently it came out on PC in 2008.
So I definitely get all the hate that’s on here. But I am going to pretty confidently say that this game is just not for me. I feel like there are plenty of 9-year-olds playing Fortnite who will love having a giant sprawling open world adventure.
I absolutely loved PoP when it came out.... But that was in 2008. I can’t figure out why they would bother doing this when they very obviously skimped on the production. If you’re going to revive a classic, do it right.
I started this gen with an Xbox and ended it with a Playstation. I never bothered to keep both because there are so many multiplatform games it didn’t seem worth it (I considered selling the Xbox as a subsidy for buying the Playstation).
So I assume this is the case, but I’m just looking for some confirmation. If I grab a Series S, will I be able to play XBox One games online with my XBone-having friends? I’ve’ been thinking about picking up an XBox One lately to get on Live, and now I’ll be able to just grab a shiny new console instead for the same…

Yes, I am.
My interest in this game started high, tanked and is somehow rising again. I’m looking forward to the official review, but things sound positive. I am not sold on paying full price or even close to it at this point, but I’m back to being willing to pick it up on sale.
It does seem like that stuff is designed only to scam little kids who crack up at getting to play as a giant banana person or something.
I was planning on (re)buying an Xbox One but they seem to all be more expensive than I remember. So I’d consider buying the next gen console to get on GamePass and reconnect with some XBox Live buddies rather than spending $300 to buy the old hardware.
To the website I go then. I really like those and there’s definitely a story there, even if it’s just in the artists head.
I’m behind on all that news. I’ve thought about buying an Xbox One recently just to play some games with friends, but it seems like they’re all more expensive than I want them to be already. I can’t find a new Xbox for less than $300 already, so I’d drop that on a “next gen” one.
