Not for no reason. There are so, so many reasons to hate it. Like the awful decision to make Guy Pearce a really old man instead of using an actually really old man. The lack of explanation for pretty much anything, the horrible horrible character development, the angsty scientist who finds the biggest discovery in

Gut reactions - I'm pleasantly surprised to see stealth actually used in an AC game, although people who actually played AC3 don't seem to be as happy to see it.

Yeah, what's even worse is when someone seemingly feigns ignorance to seem further outside gamer culture than they are. I just love it when people pull out something like, "That game with the fat, little Italian man, you know the one."

Honestly, that could probably only apply to games made after that. It's not like you're suddenly going to lose access to offline-only games because MS flips a switch - even if that were to happen.

If I were to guess, some games won't work at all offline, some games that use cloud will look/play slightly differently from their online counterparts and some games will be exactly the same.

I want to live where you live. I mean, probably not really, but you know what I mean.

$40 a month? How many old games are you going to be playing each month? That's way more than what I budget for current-gen games.

... or bird?

I played the first one on PS2 and thought it was pretty awesome. That aside, I totally agree with this. The Helghast were obvious Nazi stand-ins, but they seemed like Nazis without actually seeming evil (am I missing some atrocities?). They were basically victims of the humans in the first place who wanted to fight

The screens look nice, but I don't like the idea of a full-game escort mission. And is this the new trend - you get to be the ruthless scumbag while someone else does the interesting stuff? If this were a movie, the AI would be the main character and the player would be a mercenary that gets offed by angry tribesmen.

"We recommend you purchase a Playstation 2 or possibly a new Playstation 3 that does not have the firmware upgrade. We at Sony see this patch as the future of gaming!"

I assume the comments are mostly tongue-in-cheek, but I love that everyone has been conditioned to expect free stuff whenever something goes wrong with the Playstation Network.

As far as productivity goes, I feel like I could use my iPad (mini also) for just about anything I use my laptop or regular computer for. The screen could be bigger for writing, but in my experience it's workable, and a bluetooth keyboard lets it do whatever you need a computer for - EverNote and Google Drive are

Most people have already mentioned altering the DRM policies - and that's basically it in my mind.

That's a nice deal. I don't have a lot of time to play, so I just rely on my enormous backlog to keep me from spending money on brand new games. I usually buy one full-priced game per year (yes, that's it) and play the crap out of that while everything else I want continues to sink in price. I played Skyrim for a full

I seem to only develop hobbies that cost a lot with little ROI. I like photography but am in no position to do it for money. I play videogames but there's pretty much no money to be recouped from that. I'm also getting into both backpacking and rock climbing a little bit and even though the costs aren't awful, there's

That's impressive you've been able to make money that way. I'm a gamer too and all I can do is look for ways to lose as little money as possible. I've bought open-box systems or slightly broken ones for fixing; buy games when they go on discounts but that's about it. It's definitely not the most expensive hobby, but

Pretty awesome game. I've definitely gotten hooked on it, to the point where it started feeling "easy" and I stopped caring if I ran down the street bludgeoning zombies. Then I started running into Ferals. Two main characters down, and almost a third, and I'm back to being careful again. They seem to manage the curve

Personal opinion, but I've seen it reflected here before: I don't think multi-platform/sports games should make the cut. Put them on their own list of bests you can get on any platform or something, because they're not too helpful here. If I'm comparing two systems and want to see what the best games are, I don't want

I did not have a lot of Lego as a kid, but I definitely had that one. Awesome.
