Your arguments make sense, but they also seem to miss the mark. It's a vast world with a ton of opportunities to explore, and you're right about not having any significance over what happens in that world. But I don't know of any games that open up a huge world and DO give you significance over what happens in it.

I can't really put my finger on why, but the vest in MGS1 is pretty sweet. I've spent a long time trying to figure out why MGS1 Snake is better than MGS2 and that's really the big difference. It's dark, it's got the collar which makes him oh so much sneakier and it looks like he's prepared to get shot in the chest and

I'm guessing this has something to do with Project Zwei.

Actually, he can't.

He stole a phone out of the pocket of a woman on a bike using chopsticks. He's making Daniel-san look like a chump.

It's a week focused on one series - it's not for everyone. As has been suggested in every one of these complaining topics, just don't read all the articles. It has been a lot of Mass Effect, but that's probably my favorite series of all time, so I'm enjoying a lot of these articles. It's overkill, but thankfully I

I actually liked the elevators. They were long as hell and I hated taking them inside the Normandy to mess with gear, but other than that, they were generally pretty amusing. I was disappointed when the load screens started popping up in ME2. It broke the immersion and lost some of the ME personality.

I'm sure it's a well made game and all that, but then there's this:

I didn't realize Planet Hollywood was still around.

Agreed. Saren was excellent - it really sold the Space-Spy vibe of ME1 that I wished carried over into the other games. Shepard, and the Spectres in general, really seemed like recon/special ops and not really the super-soldier Marines that comes out in the second and third games. Saren's relationship with Shepard was

Wow, I was just about to make a post saying the exact opposite. I really disliked the sequels to Sands of Time. Thankfully, I remembered they did make a sequel in the spirit of Sands of Time when the horrible movie came out - I think I need to go play that...

And yet another lesson in, "shut the hell up about the company you work for." Seriously, why don't people realize that they need to keep their mouths shut about their work unless it's their job to do the talking?

I wish I hadn't made my own comment because you said it far better than I did.

It's kind of a shame that the Japanese producers backed off this so fast. It's a blatant rip-off, yes, but everything new gets ripped off eventually. Imitation is the highest form of flattery and what-not.

ME1 got the shaft. The combat was clunky, but the story was awesome. I'd have to say the moment you become a Spectre (before you realize that doesn't really amount to anything) and when you encounter Saren on Virmire/lose Kaiden/Ashley. And maybe the showdown with Wrex too. They're all smaller scenes compared to

First of all, censorship is bad and all that stuff.

Uh, if you were facing the inevitable doom of every living creature in the galaxy and the only thing in the way was you and about 5-6 other people, would you not spend every moment blackout drunk? Because I'm pretty sure I would.

I really like this guy's opinion. I completely agree with him too. I've played games pretty much my entire life, visit game sites such as Kotaku 3-4 times per week, used to work at a game store and have owned at least one console every generation since the NES. And yet, I don't really feel like I qualify as the

Are you serious? First of all, information theft is not a thing. Second of all, it's only plagiarism if they stole the wording. Third, this is a blog, which means its about 90% recycled content. And fourth, stolen from Reddit? Science when are people on Reddit doing original reporting on anything??

Man, that is an annoying argument. Just because something IS always on (for some people) doesn't mean it should have to be. Why do all these companies feel the need to control what consumers do? Having an always-on system is a pain in the ass for a lot of people who have slow or no Internet. The only reason MS or any
