Seriously can't wait for this one. The book was staggeringly weird and also incredibly funny. None of which I can talk about without spoiling it.

This is both true AND written in the spirit of the book. Bravo, sir.

Pretty sure this is just to add a protective "I guess Democrats do it too." to help against any cries of hating Republicans. Whatever his faults, Obama hasn't ever supported ending vaccines or linked it to autism - even in this quote, he just says to research it because "we can't afford to junk our vaccine system".

Well, it's Paul BrOun: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Broun

This gives a whole new meaning to Gandalf yelling that he's the Wielder of the Flame of Anor. That's 1st prize in the Valinor chili cook-off.

YES. I always liked Radagast for some reason. I loved that there's these other super-powerful wizards around during the War of the Ring, even though they were all... doing something else. Making chili at home or whatever, instead of saving the world.

Instantly contributed. This is a dream come true, and I want my signed collector's edition. :)

Likewise - I loved Pushing Daises about 6 minutes in. It was so... charming quirky.

This. I loved Radiant Historia - the two branches of time travel didn't always make a lot of sense (why does freeing someone in one branch of time result in freeing them in the other?) but the concept was freaking solid, and the game itself was amazing.

Hm. Looks neat, but I'm not sure who'll buy it. If you've already played through the series somewhere else, you can't continue your save here unless there's some crazy cross-platform save compatibility (which isn't going to happen). And if you were really interested in starting to play now... you can go get it

"Galaxy on Fire 2" is a pretty decent spaceflight game. "Dangerous" is as well, though it looks significantly worse.

I bought a Nexus 7 already for "work" purposes, and I have to agree with this post. It plays games simply beautifully. Spaceflight games like "Dangerous" or "Galaxy on Fire 2" also work beautifully.

I'm really looking forward to newer games in the series, especially in their AI improvements. But don't get me wrong, I like Skyrim - but it doesn't feel like a real world to me.

On an aesthetic level, I'd say I actually thought Arkham City did a pretty decent job. The occasional news broadcast did a good job. I also love older games like Deus Ex - the worldbuilding in that was incredible, in that the original even came with a newspaper from 2050 talking about world events.

This usually only happens for the first couple hours in a game. For example, Skyrim was this wonderful mysterious game... until I figured out the underlying systems, and I stopped believing in it as an underlying system.

Well, I certainly HOPE they put some better stuff on there. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was a nice gesture, even if I didn't buy it. I still find myself playing PSP games way more than any actual Vita games - hopefully that changes.

I kind of agree with the article. It's entirely too early to write off the Vita completely, but I can't find anything to be excited about at all and Sony doesn't seem to be taking the handheld seriously.

This exactly mirrors my own experience. I keep breaking bugs, but I don't really care. In the meantime, other players are happy to take you to their 'dimension' where a quest is currently working, and the in-game chatter on quests is pretty helpful.

Yeah. The expansion is Sins is largely just: All the content from the old micro-expansion packs, plus better AI, much better textures, and "Rebel" and "Loyalist" subfactions for each race that make big changes in the late game.

This is really different from Sins... Sins is essentially a RTS, with direct control over your units but with a deep research tree and small amounts of planetary development/resource management. Endless Space is Space-Civ, with a really slight amount of player input into combat. It's awesome, but the games are very
