People are not really seeing the key issue here: Police in modern society have effectively seized a lower standard of care with respect to the public when they should be held to a higher one due to their greater training, experience, and equipment.

A "panel of high-ranking police officials that reviewed the shooting urged Beck to clear the officers of wrongdoing."

I always tip 20% or more, but I really think we as a society need to abolish tipping and make restaurants actually pay their servers a living wage. (Minimum wage also needs to go up but that's another issue.) Increase the price of the food if necessary; it would not bother me. It's just not a fair or helpful system.

No kidding. When is the last time you tipped the cashier at Walmart for ringing you up.

Hear Hear.

Fine. But I think that mothers should get it first since we push the damn things out.

Hey, at least they learned how capitalism works!

Not to mention that here's the message I get:

Well, from what I understand, her family was not happy with how she was portrayed, and said that her ex-husband had basically been running a smear campaign by calling her crazy for all these years. It's not just that she's portrayed as crazy, it's that she's not alive to tell her side of the story, and we're only

Is anyone else really uncomfortable with the way Jennifer Lawrence's character was portrayed, given that the woman she's based on killed herself, after allegedly being harassed by her ex-husband and the FBI? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie and think JLaw is terrific in everything, but after finding out that

Seriously! Isn't this part of the pro-choice movement? I don't want abortion restricted and I certainly don't want it forced on someone either. Reproductive coercion is reproductive coercion no matter how you slice it. Those opposed to abortion are always claiming the pro-choice side wants things like this and I'm

For me it's not as much about the fetus as much as a complete violation of her bodily autonomy that endangered her life. This was a violent assault that could have resulted in her death. If he'd beaten the shit out of her resulting in similar amounts of bleeding, a similar hospital stay, and the loss of her very much

He also could have killed her. That shit isn't safe to take without the supervision of a medical professional. It's not Plan B y'know? She could have bled to death if there were complications.

"This is not slavery, therefore it seems pretty okay" is a spectacularly dumb argument.

Hey asshole, it's a job. We have workplace regulations and wage laws for everyone. Regardless of what that job is.

You're missing the point. They are grossly underpaid and should get fair market value.

He was released into the custody of his parents

Yeah, I'm sure Sweden would be in soooooo much danger without the big strong US to save them...

Sweden has marines? What the hell do they do? Sit around an negotiate peaceful settlements, with their beautiful blonde hair, gorgeous smiles, and genial personalities? Do they even carry weapons, or do they disarm you by strumming an acoustic guitar?

I gots me some eyebrow envy. They really frame her face well.
