The Traveling Wilburys.

I’m a bit sad they’re going so far afield from actual history for this season, becuse the actual coup (which went off much too easily to be properly dramatic) still had some pretty funny moments.

Well, Dubai Air is a made up airline. (Etihad is the actual national airline of the UAE and somewhat amusingly in context of the show, they sponsor Man City). And I’m not sure Sam’s protest was against DA but their parent company - he’s trying to drive attention to that company’s abuses to the Nigerian land and people.

On re-re-watch, there isn’t as much Canto Bight, minutes-wise, as it feels like there is. Like 20 minutes. But yeah, it feels like an hour. One of the only Star Wars locations that make me think “I can get that at home”, I mean big deal, a casino, fancier than most, people wear space-tuxes, but playing what looks at

Both versions also had vastly better Starbucks

It’s insane that it includes a race sequence that came out twenty years after Phantom Menace and looks worse than the pod race.

I mean if I’m gonna nitpick even more specific issues with Canto Bight I’ll manage to be talking about Canto Bight for even longer than the Canto Bight sequence, which might seem impossible considering Canto Bight takes so long that it’s still being filmed as we speak, but yeah I’m good just saying the execution sucks.

I’ve said before that new Battlestar Galactica has a vastly better space chase (made for a tiny fraction of the cost for TV about 13 years earlier) and old Battlestar Galactica had a vastly better casino scene (there was some very nasty stuff happening in the basement!).

A thing that annoys me is that “Master Codebreaker” is a clunky as fuck. Like, it seems like a placeholder for a title that they never bothered changing in the script. In fact, the EU already had a title for it: Slicer. They could have had Maz tell Finn that he needs to find a Slicer, and than when they meet DJ and he

I can understand Holdo not telling Poe, but it’s preposterous that he wouldn’t have been able to find out what was going on. He wasn’t barred from the flight deck or bridge, and the plans for evacuation were in clear view on bridge monitors. It makes her not telling Poe seem petty because we subconsciously understand

Canto Bight fucking blows, is the problem.

I didn't like what he did but once having done it, they needed to commit to it. The fact that JJ literally referenced things from VIII and directly countered them was the equivalent of doing the exact opposite of turning into a skid and hence flipping the car and crashing in a flaming wreck as a result.

I get what you’re saying. But I’ve grown tired of the directional punching thing. Who gets to decide which way is up? Couldn’t one say that liberal orthodoxy in Hollywood is powerful, and if you punch it, you’re punching up? I don’t know.

I like when South Park satirizes the beliefs of others.

less than half of America’s voting age population voted in that year’s presidential election, whereas last year over 60% did.

What makes you think people were less cynical about politics before South Park?

That dude is the absolute worst. Someone in a past thread once said that no one sums up the AV Club’s transformation from an awesome, fun place to a toxic and miserable one quite like him.

Glad I got here before a certain commenter comes along and complains about how awful this show is and how it ruined society because he doesn’t like 4 specific episodes.

I don’t listen to Billie Eilish. Her music means the world to my stepdaughter, so I have some respect for anyone who makes her feel special & respected. She could be amazing but it’s not my call to make, & I’m not going to criticize anyone for their taste.
