Understood - and of course, I agree that attempts at shaming overweight people (name-calling, etc.) is not the way to encourage them to live a healthier lifestyle.

I agree with you; I never understood the appeal of that series. I thought it was boring.

Just doing kitty stuff. I used to have a cat who did that, although she didn't fall.

Being a cat. Apparently they do that sometimes. I've never seen it from mine, but cats are weird creatures.

I love the idea that she thought the Sex and the City movies were as full of shit as i do.

That was an amazingly measured, logical and well thought out argument. It was cogent and showed disagreement without being mean and name calling- are we sure she's talking about politics?

What? Yes, we all assume personal responsibility for our own health, in so far as we have any control over it. It's actually really none of anyone's business whether someone else is fat, or eats too much salt, or cycles without a bike helmet, or exposes themselves to stressful situations or any of the myriad ways in

Maybe it's low self-esteem which causes some people to overeat and become fat.

Really? Tell that to my dad - oh, wait, you can't, because my father died of cirrhosis of the liver due to his alcoholism. And I'm sure you've seen the online photos entitled "The Faces Of Meth". Ah, yes, so healthy to be either a drug addict or an alcoholic.

That doesn't mean she's healthy. Anyone who eats junk food is at risk. As are obese people.

But what about accepting personal responsibility?

When someone tells me an excuse, yea, it becomes something I get to have an opinion on. Not saying anyone on here did, but what I was saying is that if someone came to me and said I can't exercise because workout clothes suck, I would say that's a bullshit excuse.

Demolitionwoman's comment was stemming from someone saying its sad that people are getting fatter, and her saying fuck off with that and talking about being glued to screens instead of being active. Then said, make bigger clothes so people can be active.

My point was not just for running. If you don't have a suitable bra that makes it comfortable for you to run, do something else. There are lots of forms of exercise that don't involve running. Walking, riding a bike, swimming.

I'm not angry at all. I'm just saying exercising is a choice you make. No one has to make that choice. I don't care. But when you are making a choice to not do something and blaming some nonsense on why you aren't doing it you're just being ridiculous. Admit you just don't want to do it. Don't make excuses. For

This is a very dangerous and ignorant statement. I don't think you realize that our unhealthy habits affect us all. Why do you think healthcare in this country is so expensive? Why do you think American's die younger than in many other countries? It's all because of our habits - eating and otherwise.

I only notice how large America has gotten when I see old movies. Everyone was so darn skinny in "North by Northwest", and that is a movie of a million normal, everyday extras wandering the streets. Mind blowing. Ahh the years before Monsanto and the corn subsidy were good years.

I never said anything about fat people being gross. My whole point of these comments is to stop making excuses and just go do something. Go walk a few miles. Ride a bike. Do some squats and push ups in your living room. There are TONS of forms of exercise that will get your heart rate up that don't involve running.

Oh, I forgot jogging the is only form of exercise.
