It's a dismissive thing to say. I think sometimes people don't realize how they sound, but want to say something, so they just pull out things like this. It's like they're saying, "Well, you'll get over it eventually."

I see your misguided comments and raise you four... "Everything happens for a reason", "This too shall pass", "God has a plan", and "Someday, you'll see what a blessing this was."

EXACTLY. You said it much better than I did. A smart, insightful comedian will dole out the shock, then use it to make a point.

I thought this review of her album is pretty spot-on.

I'm at the point right now where the most offensive thing for me about Miley is those nails.

It's always the guys that do the sexist/racist joking thing that say, "Hey, I'm just being a comedian, and my sense of humor is really edgy. You just don't get it."

Yes! Also, when people start off with, "I don't mean to be offensive, but..." they are about to be VERY OFFENSIVE.

Here's what I remember- you see, I used to have to go to Columbus, Ohio for meetings at corporate headquarters of the company I worked for (Victoria's Secret). Back when I started at my job, A&F was still owned by The Limited, so we all shared the same corporate cafeteria (they had the downstairs part of the building,

I've been asked, "So, what's your family background?" because they can't tell... it's so mixed (Irish, East German, Welsh, English, French, Dutch) that they can't pick out anything specific. I'm usually mistaken for Eastern European. I usually just say I'm an American mutt. My dad, the Irish/ East German mash-up, was

Totally. I don't think there's any way to completely get away from the competitive parenting culture of today; I think that in the suburbs there are at least less worries financially since there are good public schools. NYC is just so expensive, and space is so limited.

I don't have children, but the last company I worked for was over 90% women, and most were married w/children. I hate to say it, but the way the overwhelming majority dealt with raising their kids in NYC was to just move out of the city altogether and not raise them there. It's so expensive, crazy competitive, and put

Simple solution, people. Binders of women. It worked for Mittens, right? Binders of women.

So, I would propose a very simple solution to this man's problem. There are these things called "doors". They block access between rooms, and the barrier cannot be penetrated until someone "opens the door" (which I don't think bunnies can do). He could, when leading a lady to his bedchamber, "shut the door", thus

Miley picking a fight with Sinead O'Connor is kind of like if she decided she was going to stage a protest against the war... the Gulf War, the one George Bush Sr. started.

Just an FYi re: prescription drugs for depression (and I don't know about PPD, I just have chronic severe depression)... I take an antidepressant, but sometimes other drugs are prescribed in combination w/antidepressants to help "boost" the effects. Occasionally drugs commonly prescribed for one thing (anti-psychotic,

Thank you, Honeycrumpett! I love your sweet comment handle. Now I want a crumpet.

I think he directed the Wrecking Ball video, too. I guess those photos could have been taken during that shoot? I wish someone out there who was on the set would come into the comment forum and tell us what was going on!

My first time w/a troll... I guess you never forget your first time (eww).

I was just schooled by another commenter who said it was obviously a fantasy of his, why didn't I "get it", and quoted Andres Sarrano "Any reaction is better than indifference."

This guy is successful. Successful at being born to a well-known Hollywood director.
