He simply was not one of the most widely well-known Senators at the time, and, in large part, won the primary for voting against the Iraq war and not spending too much on his haircuts. It feels a lot like you’re re-writing history here and you’ve also begun arguing against yourself by saying that Obama was well-known

Yeah, I’m more and more convinced with every response that they’re just trolling.

Exactly. And they have demonstrated that they care not for that.

So, no, you won’t agree to disagree? ;) I mean, Warren is one of the most well-known Senators currently serving (she’s new but she made a helluva splash) and only stands to gain more notoriety in the coming years, whereas Obama didn’t even have an entire term under his belt.

Thanks. I don’t really want to dismiss this thread because so many other people have voiced their opinions on it, but this person is insisting on misinterpreting what I am saying and I really don’t understand why.

I think it’s been heavily implied in the, what, dozens, of comments you’ve made here beating her drum.

I’m a man?!??!?!?!??!?!? OMG WHO KNEW ALL THIS TIME

I guess I’m a pragmatist in this way. There are degrees of hate, and it burrows into you over time and intensifies. I prefer a candidate that doesn’t already have an overflowing cup of GOP hate.

You seem rather certain that she would be an excellent POTUS candidate. I also think you’re over-estimating how well know Obama was in 2008 and underestimating how well known and polarizing Warren is now. The internet is a different place now than it was then and Warren has gone viral a lot.

So, I can’t possibly know anything, but you can be extremely certain that you’re right.

You are being willfully ignorant about the reality of these girls lives.

They said that they’re doing it to protect victims.

They did turn out to vote against Obama, although your characterization mostly applies to his re-election campaign (since he was largely an unknown when he first ran), but his coalition was padded and he was still able to win. It is notable that his margin of victory was lower in his re-election when the factors that

Fortunately, I didn’t say that. You’d be better off arguing with someone who is actually saying the thing you’re arguing against.

To win a settlement, probably. My comments only go towards their stated motivation for the suit, which I do not believe for a moment. You may believe it, though. That’s fine, I don’t have a problem with that.

That was my point? You asked if there had been an unjustified shoot on a cop show, and I said yes, and described one. The Wire is unique among cop shows for its critical lens.

I don’t agree that any candidate with a D next to their name is going to be equally reviled by GOP voters. I think that a lot of liberals and progressives underestimate the level of vitriol the right has for Warren. It’s an already established hatred, too, with deep roots (although not 30 years deep!) and we all know

I say that based on my knowledge of the Duggar clan.

No. You did not read what I wrote. If fewer GOP voters go to the polls because they’re disillusioned by the GOP clusterfuck, they will lose. GOP voters hate Elizabeth Warren. They will go out to vote against the uppity broad from Massachusetts in droves and then they will win.

The only problem with that is the whole living in a red state thing. I like the protections my blue state affords me!
