@Gators15: It sort of is. It is how you get a lot of the content you see for free. People have to pay for servers and connections and such. Ads try to make the cost go down for those companies.

@A.Jaswal: they actually are supposed to transfer your plan from one item to the next... most people don't know that and buy a new one. I learned that a long time ago when a nice best buy employee told me about that.

@spectralveil: I think they have an exclusive contract with Verizon for 3G for a while longer. So after that is up they probably will open it up for everyone.

They really should realize that quantity would more than make up for the price. They've got such a huge library, multiplied by millions of users, multiplied by millions of times rented, multiplied by 99 cents is till an assload.

@mchtchariand: if you can charge your phone by setting it down on the table, and sync wirelessly, wouldn't that be more convenient? They probably could introduce the same tech to headsets and other similar gear.

@Almightywhacko: Usually those cores are optimized for mobile so they'll shut down what they don't need when they don't need it to make sure that it lasts longer than if it were to run at full strength constantly.
