Yeah, they aren't bad for an old Russian dude.

Unfortunately, race cannot be set aside for many of us. I am a black woman. I'm not a woman sometimes and black sometimes. I'm both all of the time. So, there's no separation of one from the other. In this video, for example, I do not deny the obvious harassment. But, I won't also deny or ignore the obvious racism.

No, because the creators of the video willfully edited out white men from the video it was poorly done and thought out. The creators of the video admitted they had a fair amount of white men who harassed, but they were edited out due to "audio issues" or they "just didn't get them on camera."

But the damange has been done.

Yea I was super confused by that editorial comment as well. Did they want her to walk exclusively through Williamsburg or something? She was clearly walking all over Manhattan in different areas - I recognized them! I'm usually the first to shout THATS RACIST but I do not believe that is the case here.

Because you can't be left leaning and be biased or racist? That's news to me.

They don't hear you. That video is just to make minorities look bad but white feminist just deny that skin color plays a role in this. I heard that the white guys they recorded wasn't put in the final cut because of "audio" issue.

"Their final (admittedly edited down) video showed a white women wandering through black and Latino neighborhoods in New York, because the white ones weren't open?"

No, racist people who look down on 'the poors' will suddenly start spewing racist, prejudiced shite when off their meds.

Nonsense. This site has dozens of articles about famous people accused of sexual assault, and never are the victims' accounts doubted.

Why are you attacking me? I treat every single person with the same, basic level of decency and respect they deserve. I've happened to have had several amazing conversations with women (and men) in such situations simply because I was in no way looking for sex. Sometimes people just click, have a friendly interaction,

While I understand the sentiment, a blanket ban on man-to-woman interaction on the street is more than a bit extreme. There is definitely a happy medium to be found.

I am actually engaged in an argument discussion elsewhere in this article. I am defending my claim that this is not a gender issue but a societal issue. I am countered with "gender is a social construct" and then I claim that by that reasoning gender is a product of society and when a product is faulty you blame its

Italy isn't Northern Europe. I guess I overestimated US knowledge of European geography, because you're the second person who's raised that one :)

It does indeed. It's not part of Northern Europe, though.

Are you serious? She's well known to suffer from schizophrenia. Didn't you know that the Clinton foundation funds extensive mental health services for students at US universities? Why do you think that is?

But... it doesn't. It's a uniquely US thing - at least this scale of harassment. Sure, you get the odd idiot here too, but not almost everyone doing it.

I know it's an article of faith on Jezebel that women can't abuse men, but I'm afraid your (b) is factually incorrect. It's far, far more common for women to escalate from a comment to assault than a man, although obviously rapes are far less common in that situation.

"How can guys not sense another human being's fear in that situation?"

Rationality is a dying virtue. Thank you for this.
