The long winter would be soooo good and suspenseful.

I would really love to see a movie based on Long Winter, Little Town on the Prairie and These Happy Golden Years. As an adult, the “grown up laura” books are so much more interesting.

Embiid hitting the rookie wall in his fourth year is the most Process thing of all time.
Subtly overlooked concern for Philly in the wake of all those “Their second half is so easy they’ll cruise!” takes is that 1. their team is centered around two guys who’ve never played even half of an NBA season worth of games in year and 2. there games post-AS break are easy, but they have more of them than any other…
At this point, if you’re in the 4-8 spot in the Eastern conference, how important is the rest of the season to you? There’s no doubt you’re in the playoffs, does gaining a seed or two really give you that much of an advantage if it means your best players are gassed come the playoffs? Is facing Cleveland (assuming…
Uhh...rest The Process?
Wait, the pirate coach doesn’t let you steal or smack women? Or abuse drugs, for that matter? What the hell kind of ship is he running? Time for mutiny, I tell ya.
Armdancer, are you talking about Adam James and his father Craig James who killed five hookers at SMU?
Leach has always been inconsistent. He kicked a kid off his Texas Tech team just because his dad had killed a bunch of hookers. Not cool.
Colson owes his Duke-killing success to his mentor, Gavrilo Princip.
Old Mom Working For New Show should have been the headline for this, but I’ll let it slide
Agreed! Never liked his writing but always liked his staff, he should stick to just management instead of content also
GM Simmons > Player Simmons
Someone (either one of his readers or a commenter here) compared him to the TMZ show, where the main guy is older and constantly befuddled by his much younger staff.
Simmons has a great eye for talent. I wish he would keep his idiotic pop culture ideas out of his talents writing though. “Hey guys, I’ll need you all to write about this character from the TV show “Friday Night Lights” all of next week. Yeah, everyone has to turn in a piece. Yes, i meant all week, this is hugely…
Maybe, because it’s not a constant shill for HBO.
They have found their respective niches ever since they lost the weekly themes (though the Jordan vs. LeBron one was actually great) and too many gimmicky columns like “who won it best” or whatever the fuck.
There’s some good stuff there at The Ringer, but...it seems like some weird-ass cult, at times. They want to make this exclusive community shit happen, and it’s really annoying (I mostly follow The Ringer on Twitter, and occasionally click on the stories I find interesting.)
If anything, the Grantland and Ringer sites have allowed Bill to go out on a high note and not turn into a cartoon version of himself. Sure, his writing is much weaker and unoriginal then it used to be (I mean the name dropping was just..sad), but he will probably never get to Skip Bayless or Bill Plashke level…
