THANK YOU. Was looking for someone to point this out.

Not yet, but I have high hopes for Westbrook/George as a pairing.

I wanted to disagree about Willie, thinking that he was about 21-22, a young big who finally is getting his chance with DeMarcus gone. Then I realized he’s already 24. Oops.

Yes, it needs to get out. Even (especially) if there’s some GMG men on it.

Yes, and the end made it worth it. But it’s hard to read long-form at work/school.

One of the cruel wrinkles to this is that even if Braxton noticed things were bad at OSU, it can be a good move to stay if your competition is transferring/leaving. It’s not quite like, say, a failing business, where you don’t want to be the last one out the door. You sort of touched on it, but just wanted to

I did notice that the article omitted to mention Barstool’s sponsored show on Snapchat. Not saying it’s a great show, but shows you the extent that Barstool has become mainstream.

Heh at least Pepsi was going to label their efforts as ad-related content.

Exactly right about the NFL and Domestic Violence. Diana? wrote a good article about how the NFL’s supposed domestic violence charity partner was kind of a mirage. The charity more or less just existed so companies could look good by being connected to it.

The irony of successful protest movements is that a weak version of their ideals will be seized upon by powers that be to sell product and look good. I’m annoyed, but I’m trying to tell myself that the spin itself is a sign of progress.

Board games: which game was the best for getting a sibling to cry/blow up? Let’s be honest, that’s why Monopoly keeps ranking so high, it’s one of the best for that.

Co-sign with Stratego. Yes, it feels a little more repetitive if you’ve played it for a while (only so many ways to hide your flag). But the excitement of the slow crushing march of a high-number/miner convoy, or the amusement of an unexpected Spy reveal, makes it worth it.

I mean, Deadspin was pretty much founded on the grand tradition of trashing opponents for clicks. What was Leitch’s ESPN coverage about then? But usually it’s high-quality trashing, and that matters.

Thanks for this, I thought there were differences between Rey and Luke but couldn’t enunciate it so clearly and well :)

I’m wondering that too, given how many good writers have been laid off recently. Crossing my fingers that a new good blog will emerge from the wreckage. It’s bad news if that model is now failed.

Yes, I’d agree that LA is different than most other Olympics sites. Having a lot of the stadiums pre-built does matter.

Good point, and Euros have been an interesting tourney filled with upsets too.

Loved your past article on Tucker and Neil’s sad attempts to rehabilitate themselves. Frankly, disappointed that someone is giving either another chance. They both preyed on insecure men, and I think it’s fair to blame both for a sort of “bro-feminism” mentality that wrapped exploitative behavior in hastily borrowed

Billy, any chance of a Tournament of Nations post? USA v Japan has been such a good rivalry in women’s soccer. Also intrigued by possibility of Australia winning entire tournament vs. Brazil getting revenge for that narrow World Cup loss in Canada.

I think most people missed the point of ending Teen Week with this. Most of the articles were about being wrong as a teen, and having bad taste, dreams, and ideas. It was a sweet twist to end with this, that yes, every so often, teen fantasies and dreams do come true. People read this in isolation a bit too much,
