It’s possible! See, the Australians I’ve come in contact with have tended to be online, using social networks. They’ve tended to be more liberal than most Americans. But I’ll admit it’s possible that I’ve just encountered the more cosmopolitan Australians.

I like the 32-week idea, or at least more byes. Also, why not have a week off before the play-offs start? It’s so annoying to see various stars pulled from that last game of the season, or to see player get concussed in last game of season and then not be able to play playoff game.

+1, that was brutal.

Cleveland’s Chief Wahoo is 10x worse than the Redskins insignia. It shows how awful Dan Snyder is that the Redskins are much more hated for their team name than the Indians.

^I agree with this! heh.

They’re less religious than we are, and they are more hedonistic, for lack of a better term, from what I can see. Australians are also very anti-class, which sometimes means they’re very not-PC and think it’s fine to use various labels. It gets complicated quickly.

Fair! But I’ll say that anecdotally, from replies here

From a brief online search, disagree. On most stats, Australia is less racist than the US. We’re talking percentage points, yes. Australia has a horrible history with its indigenous peoples, and you’ll find some awful individuals targeting Muslims. But there’s nothing to prove that Australia is as racist as the US,

He’s from Australia, for crying out loud, not whatever stereotype Kevin was reaching for. I get that Kevin needed a first sentence, but that was weak.

Same! I was wondering when there would be mention of a shark. /pessimist

Congrats on the newborn! Thought you had left when Gawker shut down, glad to see otherwise.

Also, tbh, I feel like tips@deadspin.com gets a bit undersold. I try not to be a jerk about it, but I occasionally wonder what the ratio of tipped/untipped stories is. Obviously, me saying “Lebron scored 40 last night!” doesn’t count as a tip, but stories like this one are probably tip-generated.

You may already know this, but:

Bless her heart. Great job in figuring that out :) I didn’t get it.

I’ve come to look for these by now, and you never disappoint.

Careful, Zukka. I hear if you say Brand three times while looking into a mirror, it summons Darren Rovell.

Mhm. Bizarre celebrity anecdotes are one of my favorite things about Kinja.

I’d want to know if Derrick Rose was dependable and honest or not—you know, the actual defendant, not the plantiff? Call me crazy, heh, but that would be my approach.

Not quite, but I also think that the debate about how “pure” she is has gotten very weird on all sides. Whether it’s her claiming in an interview that refusing to do Skype sex was proof of her shyness (or of just common sense not wanting to be recorded), or the lawyers above making a big deal about her using the word
