My response wasn't meant to demean your position, I'm just letting you know from someone who spent years studying the causes of war that power and the quest and/or defense thereof has more to do with war than religion or ideology. But it's a never ending discussion.

Yes indeed....apparently he's been modifying it as distastefully as possible to avoid his wife taking the car in the divorce settlement. It's a bold move if you ask me. Engine/interior/drivetrain (the important stuff) is untouched and functioning....but the things SHE will notice are totally ruined.
