Yeah, that was part of the US streaming deal. They had to wait a specific time after the first run on SyFy.

After being a Star Wars fan all my life, I have no interest in any new Star Wars films because of all the unnecessary ‘fan service’ shoved into each new film.
But SyFy does not finance or produce The Expanse, it’s financed and produced By Alcon.
SyFy is basically the distributor. So the show can easily be TXed by another company, probably end up on Amazon or Netflix.
