The fact that modders have been able to ‘fix’ pretty much every substantial bug in their single player games since they started using the Gamebryo/Creation Engine _USING_ the tools that Bethesda has provided them or writing their own, suggests the problem is NOT the engine, it’s the company using it.
And Origin stopped giving out free games, since it realized that was the only reason I launched it (well that and Sims3 required it).

Curse is a multi-level company, and that part of the company wasn’t sold.
Thankfully this apparently does NOT include Curseforge which has become almost the de facto place to host mods and modpacks for Minecraft. However it DOES include the portions of Curse that handle the Feed the Beast forums and wikis - which is the largest by far of the modded minecraft communities.
