I will honestly take back all the snark I’ve fired his way if he’ll just show some spine on this. He’s got nothing to lose! Fillibuster, Jeff, go out with some dignity!

Jeff Flake says he wants to delay the vote because of this. Maybe, just maybe, Flake’s action will be consistent with his rhetoric.

I especially like the bit where the other attempted rapist wrote a whole memoir about being an alcoholic in high school and mentions his drunk buddy “Bart O’Kavanaugh.”

The fact that she disclosed a consistent story about him BEFORE he was nominated for the SCOTUS is overwhelmingly damning to him. GOOD.

Thank you Christine Blasey Ford for being incredibly brave.

There is nothing more suspicious than a Northern Californian woman with a PhD. and ties to Stanford.

Not attempting to strain at a gnat in light of these allegations (which I believe), but time and again, I am seeing this woman labeled “Mrs. Ford,” when, in fact, she is an effing Ph.D. Identifying her as a wife, and by her husband’s name, seems an ironic diminishment, especially under these circumstances.

That is a whole lot of corroboration for her account: FBI polygraph (not by any means truly reliable, but the mouth breathers certainly like trying to make survivors take them);  disclosure to a therapist years ago; told her husband about it. I mean, I know the wingnuts are going to say it’s a vast and elaborate

My reaction was to Feinstein dragging her feet for two critical months while holding onto important allegations. And as to de Leon’s ethnicity, he’s Guatemalan and Chinese.

Man here. Have never worried about my career being destroyed by a rape allegation. Apparently, it’s common for Republicans though.

Does the White House counsel know he may have just implied that damn near every man on earth (himself and his boss included) has been abusive to women?

thank you for your service Diane, now its time to retire.

It’s time...

While I commend her for her bravery in coming forward, I am so angry that she was being accosted at home & work and had no option but to come forward. Victims should come forward on their terms, not others’.

“If somebody can be brought down by accusations like this, then you, me, every man certainly should be worried. We can all be accused of something.”

Ford told the Post that she hadn’t told anyone about the incident until it was brought up in a couples therapy session with her husband in 2012. She provided the newspaper with parts of her therapist’s notes.

I’ve not had a kid, but I do have an abusive parent. So, in my eyes, your nephew is well-loved and well-off already, as he lives with someone who cares *so much* about his wellbeing and whether or not he feels appropriately loved, and clearly is doing their very best to make sure he’s raised in a stable and healthy

If Vonnegut was alive today, he would probably go ahead and die anyway not wanting any part of this country anymore. Speaking of which, as good as his novels were throughout the years, his collection of personal essays in Man Without a Country really stands out. Might be his best writing.

As an exception, Kurt Vonnegut fought in WWII, came back to the US and raised 3 children with his wife, adopted his sister’s 3 young children as well when she died of cancer and his brother in law died in an accident, and was a consistent voice in criticizing the rising reactionary political Right in the US. Seemed

Next they’ll tell us Bukowski was a drunken jerk.
