A few weeks ago I was on a plane and a group of four women celebrating their 40th birthdays was seated a few rows in front of me, each woman wearing a plush tiara and carrying a scepter. The pilot announced, after his regular pre-departure comments, that this group was on their way to NYC for a birthday trip.

@hellollama: I was trying it and I'm in Chicago...my hair had more volume, but it was dry-ish and not shiny and generally meh. I wish I could figure out how to make it work. Maybe when I own a place and can muck around with the water filtration or something. I can dream!

I think Vince Vaughn did the sky diving for the Chicago Air and Water show, which is a really cool way to highlight a big event in his hometown. I think someone else famous did it last year or the year before. It's awesome Vince's mom did it, too!

@aShinyGumWrapper: Agreed! And I write children's books for a living. So...I've seen my share of not-so-compelling books, and aside from the lazy and ugly art and the poor spelling choices, it's really not so bad in terms of its message. Though I still wouldn't want a writer's credit for it...

@Sonadelite: Can I ask what you recommend for an exfoliator? I've heard of some to avoid (that apricot scrub is too harsh, I hear) but I don't know of one that comes highly recommended. Thanks!

@kentuckienne: There was a character in the book I just read who did, and you don't want to know what the author did to him...such a representation of the kind of terrible person who gets off on that kind of stuff. It's sickening.

I watched this last night (DVRed) and as people started to speak, I honestly got confused and thought maybe this was an old season or something. Apparently no one was memorable to me. I'm still a little convinced they sneaked two of the guys in under my nose...AJ who?

@amake616 misses MizJenkins: We just did Cedar Point this year on a Friday and most of it wasn't bad...we just made sure to go early-ish and head all the way to the back first and work out way out. Lines back there were 15 minutes or less (or walk straight on), and the ones up front were already 90 minutes.

So, my hair isn't wavy, but it's not straight, and won't dry that way. It won't hold a curl or style either, and tends to be dry/frizzy. It's also thin and fine-ish. I can't use stuff for curly hair, but the volumizing stuff doesn't work either. I have no idea what my hair type is or what it should look like…

@Nimabu: Why would protein dry out hair? Wouldn't it make it healthier? My sister is always telling me I need to eat more protein for my hair to be healthier, is that different?

@banana_grabber: I couldn't get the oil cleansing to work for me. It made me break out like crazy everywhere, and made my pores look huge. And no one on the boards could explain why. It's so frustrating to have tried to do the right thing, and not have it be the magic cure it was "supposed" to be. Same with the baking…
