Does the One (everytime I say that now I'm beginning to think of The Matrix) have dedicated GPU memory? From the announcement yesterday there was no mention of that. If it does have dedicated GPU memory I would think MS would push that as an advantage over the PS4 because of the fundamental differences between DDR3

I'm trying to do a double check on this. I'm not 100% sure on how the graphic RAM and system RAM are processed, split or shared. I'm actually kind of curious on if it's actually copied from one another or if it's split to where certain things like graphics are offloaded onto the GPU and graphics ram while AI

The One nor the PS4 will be able to take advantage of CUDA though. Both are running AMD chips for both CPU and GPU.

I haven't heard of any dedicated graphical RAM, so I'm going to assume that like most consoles, the graphics and system share the same RAM base, meaning we're looking at 5GB of shared DDR3 for games on the Xbox One.

Well, you have to be clear, GDDR5 is not 100% better than DDR3, as much as Sony wants to lead people into thinking. GDDR5 has a higher bandwidth capacity but also has a higher latency, while DDR3 has lower bandwidth and lower latency. While the higher bandwidth means that you can push more data through at once, a

Also don't forget that graphics cards usually have their own dedicated set of RAM as well. A lot of the graphical pipeline is held in your graphics card RAM and has no effect on your system RAM.

As I said, some work better then others. If however state changes are going to become standard, I'd expect most games from here on to be rather smooth, especially if the Xbox One's game OS, while not being exactly Windows 8, still holds a lot of the API in there (particularity Direct X).

From what I remember, the PS4's OS uses about a GB, leaving 7 GB for games.

Don't forget PCs. PCs have been able to do this in some form or another for forever. Some games better then others of course.

Chances are, because they have the same layouts and buttons and that they both probably use similar code (XInput), both controllers should be able to work, but new games can take advantage of things like the impulse triggers.

If that controller works on the PC, I'll buy it day one.

Bobsledding through Speed Highway. That's almost enough to make me want this game.

When it comes to this next console generation, only two things matter: The death of DirectX 9 and more RAM. Everything else is just fluff.

I got to admit, it's both a little cool and a bit weird to see a video that involves one of your professors on Kotaku.

You know, there was that one time that Iron Man actually did take on Megatron.

I got to say, the Sheikah symbol on Zelda's gauntlet is a really nice touch.

This would be the a remake of the sequel.

We'll find out if it's a new Pokemon (Mewthree?) or a new forme of Mewtwo by July when Movie 16 comes out in Japan.

You're slightly wrong. This is the first time The Rock has been on the standard edition cover of a WWE game since Just Bring It. The Rock was however on the cover of WWE '12 The People's Edition (the special edition).

Holy shit this is amazing.
