It could be that the "artificial gravity" in any Sci-Fi ship can only necessarily pull one way, so the rest of the ship would be designed with that in mind. It also makes organizing and getting around the ship easier. Decks, elevators, etc. I still don't totally understand how they got around the ship in 2001.

I agree with your first point - the world really could have used some permanence. As for the other one, I played it on PC, so controls weren't a huge problem for me.

I'm curious to know what you found about Far Cry 2 that made it as terrible as you seem to be saying. Personally I've always felt like it was an underrated game, even if it was lacking in mission diversity.

There's an extended version of the early days of Nintendo in Steven L. Kent's "The Ultimate History of Video Games." Required reading for anyone that's into video game history. There are books written in the eleven years since, but none have been quite so comprehensive and all inclusive as Kent's.

If you're looking to start collecting to resell games, one or two of the titles on that list are somewhat hard to find, like the Metal Gear Solid Essential collection. I don't know if I'd call it collectible exactly, but who knows what the state of game collecting will be in 15-20 years.

I wish there was an option to only unblock a single site, or a small list of sites. I'd love to be able to use this, but writing internet comedy and TV recaps require little bits of research here and there - for example, right now I need to be on the Breaking Bad wiki, but I don't need to be on Reddit.

I bought an old Brother Word Processor from around 1990 at a garage sale a few years ago for ten bucks. It's a godsend for someone that needs to write a lot and can't be bothered by the distractions of the internet.
