Ukrainians have been dealing with them — both flesh-and-blood and A.I. — ones ever since our previous revolution in 2004.
with all the US’ history of covertly supporting local marginal groups to oppose the government, it has nothing on Russia in this part of the world. Ukrainian ultra-right even exist mostly because they were trained in Russia and are funded by it.
and Russian culture in general is rather racist — including against Ukrainians and Belarussians.

nope. we had the Budapest Memorandum. with the US and the UK — who guaranteed our territorial integrity if we give up our nuclear arsenal — third largest in the world at the time. just look at all the good it did us.
it was not revoked, it was suspended. and it is a foreign passport, not an internal one. she was asked not to flee the city. she was not detained. considering her priors it is very mild.
in my conversation with people from other countries of both Americas I was pleasantly surprised to learn they are way more knowledgeable about Ukraine than Americans. I wonder why that is.
