@MJDeviant: yes. you still need cell service until GV can use VOIP. but this way, you can get any mobile phone number and by using android, exclusively use your primary (transferred to GV) line.

@wætherman: Ive heard of people being able to do that, but the contract is tied to the number so it depends on the CSR. shitshow either way.

@wætherman: No, youd immediately loose your number as soon as you get the new one. Best bet is to start a family plan, put the new number as primary, port out your secondary number, then cancel the family plan within 30 days so that you dont have to pay for the new line.
